Editorial Policy

Last reviewed: July 26, 2026

CleanseCode publishes educational content that helps readers understand gut-health, supplement, detox, and cleanse claims. Our goal is to explain what the evidence shows, what remains uncertain, and when a question belongs with a licensed healthcare professional.

Our standards

Every health article must:

  • Answer a clear reader question without overstating the evidence.
  • Distinguish established evidence from preliminary findings, expert opinion, and marketing claims.
  • Prefer systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, government health agencies, and peer-reviewed human research.
  • Link claims to sources that directly support them.
  • Identify important limitations, risks, contraindications, and uncertainty.
  • Avoid diagnosing readers or replacing individualized medical care.
  • Disclose commercial relationships that could affect—or appear to affect—our coverage.

How we research

Writers begin with the reader’s question and a documented research brief. Sources are checked for relevance, publication type, study population, intervention, outcome, and limitations. A citation is not accepted merely because its title or abstract contains a related keyword.

We do not present animal, laboratory, or observational findings as proof of a treatment effect in humans. We do not call a product “tested” unless we can document who tested it, the method used, the products evaluated, the dates, and the results.

Medical review

Articles containing clinical claims, treatment comparisons, supplement dosing, contraindications, or safety guidance should be reviewed by an appropriately credentialed healthcare professional before publication. The reviewer’s name, credentials, and review date will appear on the article.

If qualified review has not yet occurred, the article must not imply that it has. High-risk claims may be held from publication until review is complete.

Updates

We review articles when important evidence, clinical guidance, product formulations, or safety information changes. Each article displays its publication date and, when materially revised, its updated or medically reviewed date.

Corrections

Material errors are corrected promptly and transparently under our Corrections Policy. Readers can report a possible error at hello@cleansecode.com.

Independence

Editorial conclusions are not sold. Advertisers, affiliate partners, and product manufacturers do not receive approval rights over our health conclusions. Sponsored material is labeled and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage.
